Funeral service for Mr. Bill W. Crabtree, age 86, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mr. Crabtree passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Lincoln Medical Center.
Mr. Crabtree was a native of Lincoln County, the son of the late Bruce and Elizabeth Touchstone Crabtree. He worked for the Elk Cotton Mills and retired from Copperweld. He was a member of the Parks City Baptist Church. Mr. Crabtree loved his family, enjoyed attending ballgames of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed working in his garden and toolshed.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years Maurine Crabtree, daughters Billette Kimbrough, Carla (Murray) Blackwelder all of Fayetteville, TN, grandchildren Brenton (Sarah) Kimbrough, Valerie (Josh) Atchley, Cayla (Cody) Smith, Owen Blackwelder all of Fayetteville, TN, Morgan Crabtree of Huntsville, AL, sisters Ruth Roles of Fayetteville, TN, Margie Galloway of Florence, AL and 6 great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Greg Crabtree, grandson Brandon Kimbrough, sisters Lois Dixon, Pauline Ables and brother Marshall Crabtree.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Higgins
Funeral Home.

I worked with Bill for 7 years at Copperweld and he always kept a smile on his face. He was truly a great person. Condolences to the family.
