Betty Tallent Manley

Funeral services for Betty Tallent Manley, age 84, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Eddie Lones officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM until 7 PM on Thursday at Higgins.

Betty was born on May 28, 1941, in Lincoln County, TN, to the late Roy Daniel and Lucille Quick Tallent. A dedicated worker throughout her life, she began her career as a seamstress at Serbin, then worked at Scovill Manufacturing, and later retired as a supervisor from Teledyne.

She was a longtime member of Lincoln Methodist Church, and after the church was lost to a fire, she continued her faith journey with Howell Hill Church of Christ. Betty had a deep love for country and gospel music and a zest for travel—always ready to go at a moment’s notice. One of her greatest joys was visiting baseball stadiums across the country, creating lasting memories along the way.

In her later years, Betty found peace watching birds and deer on her beloved farm. She was a strong, hardworking woman who gave everything for her family. Her love for her granddaughters and great-grandchildren was boundless, and her legacy of devotion and determination will continue to inspire all who knew her. Betty passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her children, Wantonna (Shane) Southern, Wykntia Mooney, Chris (Cindy) Manley, and Chad (Jennifer) Manley; granddaughters, Summer (Dennis) Southern Allmon, Sloane (Jonathan) Goldman, Olivia (Jon) McAllister, and Kerstie Wolaver; and great-grandchildren, Tallent and Ellis-James Goldman, Raylan and Bo Henry McAllister, Josie and Natalie Sharpe, and Carly McFly; and her dear friend, Monica Hicks. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Quatina Manley Wolaver.

Memorial donations may be made to the Quatina M. Wolaver Foundation of Hope, 49 Quick School Road, Fayetteville, Tennessee 37334.

Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Betty Tallent Manley.

May God give you all comfort and strength through these times.
I remember Miss Betty from way back when I was a youngster, I would come over on my bicycle to play with the kids, she was always very nice to me and my family.
I know I haven’t seen y’all in awhile while but I want you to know I will keep everyone in my prayers through these rough times. 🙏❤️
