It is with regret we announce the passing of Betty Jean Collins Shelton, age 89, of Fayetteville, TN. Mrs. Shelton was born on April 10, 1936, in Lincoln County, TN to the late James Odie Collins and Clara Mae Smith Collins. She attended Boonshill School and was a member of the Beech Grove Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed working on the cattle farm alongside her late husband, Earl Raby Shelton. Mrs. Shelton passed away August 23, 2025, at HH Lincoln Health.
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Shelton, and Lisa (Gary) Creson; grandsons, James Earl Creson (Amanda Sawyers), John Raby Creson (Chelsea Hardiman), and Coy (Amy) Sisk; great-grandchildren, Hannah Creson, Brookelynn Creson, Avery Sisk, and Carley Sisk; several extended family members and friends; and her beloved dog, Rusty.
Private services for Mrs. Shelton were held at Barnes Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Barnes Cemetery Association, c/o Tiffany Quick Curry, 40 Clayton Acres Rd., Fayetteville, TN 37334.

Oh Wanda & Lisa – I just heard about your precious mom and it breaks my heart. I have so many special memories of her and your dad in my growing up years and even in adulthood when I would see her, she always looked glad to see me and smile her beautiful smile. My love to you both – we were both sure blessed with wonderful parents!

Mrs Betty was a dear sweet person. She taught Sunday school as I recall from my visits yo my Aunt Sara’s house. Always sweet and kind.

Wanda and Lisa, I am so sorry to hear that Ms Betty passed away. Your Mom was such a sweet lady. Aunt Marg, Uncle Bill and Penny Terrell sure thought a lot and loved your parents as we all did.
