Betty Adele Holland Hamrick, age 71, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away on March 4, 2026, at Elk River Nursing Care in Ardmore, TN. She was born on May 11, 1954, in Davidson County, TN, to the late Dr. William Cannon Holland and Jane Elizabeth Medearis Holland.
Betty earned her bachelor’s degree at then Belhaven College in Jackson, MS, and a master’s degree from Alabama A&M University and worked for many years as a mathematics tutor, helping students gain confidence and understanding in their studies. She was an avid tennis player and a devoted fan of college football. Most importantly, Betty was a faithful member of West Fayetteville Church of Christ and was passionate about sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone she met.
Survivors include her son, David Ryan Hamrick, Jr.; brother, Robert Morris Holland; sister, Sue Franklin Holland; and nieces, Alisa Holland and Elizabeth Taylor. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, William “Bill” Cannon Holland, III, and sister, Carol Holland Connelly.
Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM until 12 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home. A private burial will take place at Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.
