Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Virginia E. Arnold, age 94, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted at 11 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Hope Assembly Church with Pastor Ben Johnson and Pastor Raleigh East officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens next to her husband, Robert W. Arnold.
Virginia was born on August 17, 1925 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Arthur Green and Stella Patrick Stewart. She worked as a seamstress for the Lee Shirt Company. Virginia loved to sew, quilt, and travel. She was part of the foster grandparent program. Mrs. Arnold passed away on August 20, 2019 at her residence.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Sandra) Arnold, Jr. of Fayetteville, TN, Martha Craig (Henry Wayne) of Elora, TN, and Carylon (J.B.) Baker of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Brian Rutledge (fiance Kim Barnes), Chris Rutledge, Carla Rutledge (fiance Jennifer Hartman), Julian Baker, III, Kevin (Emily) Baker, Brock (Jocelyn) Baker, Robert W. Arnold, III, Melissa Arnold Maddox, James Paul Arnold, Jr., and William Kelley (Heather) Arnold; sister, Jeanette (John) O’Neal; best friend, Linda Smith; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Paul Arnold, and siblings, Carl Stewart, Verna Stewart Sawyers, and James Clyde Stewart.
Visitation with the family will be held at 5 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at Higgins Funeral Home and on Thursday 9 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Hope Assembly Church.
Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Virginia E. Arnold.
