Obituary

Steve George September 15, 1956- January 1, 2021.

Steve passed away at age 64 at St Thomas hospital in Nashville after a long illness.

Steve was preceded in death by his dad, Russell George. He is survived by his mom, Dorothy George, brother Mike George (wife Sandy), their children and grandchildren, plus many friends. Steve graduated from Central High School in Fayetteville. He attended Middle Tennessee State University with a study in theater.

Steve worked many years as a hair stylist at Trumps in Nashville before returning home to help with sickness in the family. Back in Fayetteville he worked as a hair stylist at Shear Frenzy Salon.
Steve loved dogs and Wizard of Oz. He enjoyed telling stories about the country music stars whom he had met in Nashville. He loved all people and never met a stranger.

Because of the pandemic, the family had a private funeral service with interment at Riverview Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 1718 Pulaski Highway, Fayetteville, TN 37334 or Riverside Christian Academy, 116 Riverside Lane, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Steve George.

Ms. George, Steve was a very special person. He cut my hair one time while I was waiting on Jana to get hers done. I’ve know him a while but never scheduled an appointment time with him, just considered him as a friend through Jana. He never met a stranger and always wore a smile. I know he will be truly missed. May God bring comfort to you during this time of grief. Hold on to the memoires, that will get you through.

Steve was one of the sweetest, most kind, and most giving fellas I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. My prayers are with his mother. His memory will, indeed, be a blessing. 💛

I am so heartbroken. Steve was such a talent and such a merry person. I have missed him ever since he left Nashville. I adored him. He had such a quick wit and could get to anyone the only Steve could. He was one of the funniest men I have ever met. He will always be such a fond memory for me. I send my deepest condolences and sympathies to his family and all his many friends! Never a word was ever said negatively about Steve George!
