It is with regret we announce the passing of Ms. Maggie Mae Perrin, age 97 of Fayetteville, TN. Ms. Perrin was born on September 29, 1922 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Walter and Ethel May Johnston. Ms. Perrin passed away on May 26, 2020 at her residence.
Ms. Perrin worked as an educator for 35 years before she retired and then she continued tutoring children until she was 90 years old. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Ron (Cheryl) Perrin of Fayetteville; grandchildren Kate (Kristian) Jenkins of Connecticut, Jill Perrin of Murfreesboro, Spencer (Angie) Perrin of Fayetteville, Stuart Perrin of Jonesboro, AR, Barrett (Rebecca) Lewis of Fayetteville, and Rielly (Tommy) Gray of Lebanon; great niece, Jane Johnston (John) Conger of Fayetteville. In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, William Perrin and son Stan Perrin.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1PM on Saturday, May 30 at Booneville Cemetery with Rev. Ann Hatcher officiating.
In accordance with State of Tennessee Executive Order No. 38 by Governor Bill Lee, social gatherings are limited to no more than 50 participants. Mrs. Perrin was one of my very favorite teachers. She was my teacher in second grade and I thought she was just about perfect. She always had a kind thing to say about each student and was the epitome of a beautiful lady to me. I will never forget her. My prayers for her family.
Mrs, Perrin, You were one of the sweetest teacher I ever had, you made a lasting impression on me which still goes with me daily.
Ron, I’m sorry for your loss, your mother was loved by many in Fayetteville and everywhere she was. My the words from all give you live and comfort.
Mrs Maggie was a precious loving soul. All the children that she taught were blessed to have her and she gave each child special attention. She was truly the best and will be missed by many. Love to her family at this sad time.

Ms. Maggie was so special. She befriended me when I started teaching at Ralph Askins in the 70s. She loved family very much. So sorry for your loss.
Ron no matter how long we have them it creates a void when they leave us. I have the fondest of memories of my years at Robert E. Lee where she was one of the corner stones of that team of teachers. Those people were why I wanted to teach – your mother was a big part of that influence. God bless you as you adjust to your new normal.

My First Grade Teacher. I will always treasure the extra time and attention she gave me after my mother, Sarah D. (West) Swinford passed away. To include, taking me shopping for some new clothes. I so loved Mrs Perrin!! She tutored my kids for a while, and then later on I did her hair for quite some time. She was a hoot!! And I know she will be greatly missed. Love to you all!
I met Mrs. Perrin in 1955. She was my 7th grade substitute teacher for Mrs. Jean Moores at Robert E. Lee. I have fondly remember her reading Carmen to us. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Maggie Perrin was one of the sweetest and kindest people I’ve ever known. Her love for children was an inspiration to me as a fellow educator. She will long be remembered as the teacher that truly made a “difference” in a child’s life.
Ms. Maggie will be dearly missed.

Our conversations were delightful. I enjoyed hearing about her family members and life experiences.

Mrs. Perrin was such a sweet, sweet person. She was my 1st grade teacher and remains one of my favorite teachers. She also tutored my daughter and she came to love her just as I did. I always enjoyed seeing her sweet smile and hug whenever she came to the 50’s Show. Rest in Heaven Mrs. Perrin. Heaven has gained a sweet spirit!
Students were blessed who had Mrs. Perrin as a teacher. We send our sympathy to her family.
I am so sad to hear about the passing of Mrs. Perrin. She tutored Aidan for years. She had the sweetest soul and a real passion for teaching. All the kids always loved helping her feed the fish. She will be missed!

Without a doubt, Mrs. Maggie Perrin was one of the sweetest women I ever met. She opened her home to me on many occasions, and she opened her heart to every child she ever taught. Long after she retired, she would call and we would talk about books, learning theory, and skills boys and girls need to be great students. May God bless her family.
