I thank God for all the good memories of Uncle G and Aunt Sue. I have been blessed to be part of their family.
Back in the late 1950s daddy and I hitched a ride to town with Uncle G. He was going to work and we were going to the stockyard. Uncle G was going to pick us up after work. We were going to meet him at Dink Syllers grocery store after he got off work. Well Leonard and Larry had a long hard day finally it was time to walk to Dink Syllers and wait for Uncle G. Well we waited a little while when all of a sudden a black ford went blasting by. The next thing we saw were his tail lights. Daddy looked at me and said, did you see that! He didn’t even slow down. Didn’t he see us standing here? I asked daddy now what do we do. Well I guess we will have to walk. I was about 6 years old at the time and Besides I had already walked all over the place. On top of that it was over 8 miles home and I didn’t think I could take another step. After walking around 3 miles or so all of a sudden a black ford pulled up alongside us and someone yelled out do you want a ride? Much to our surprise it was Uncle G. He said that he was a little late but waited for us at Dink Syllers but we never showed up so he left. We told him our story about him blasting by us like a mad man. We all had a big laugh about it. Daddy and I were never so glad to see G in our lives,
Our prayers go out to Gene and his family. Gods blessings to all.
    Love

I will always remember his friendly smile and compassionate heart. Uncle G was always a joy to be around. He gave me my nickname, “sissy,” many years ago. I will forever remember him always having chewing gum for me in his pocket. One of life’s precious jewels. I’m thankful for my memories of him. Love you all and am thinking of you in this most difficult time.
