Obituary

Funeral service for Mr. Roy Gilbert Johnson, age 76, of Taft, TN, will be conducted at 10 AM on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blanche Cemetery.

Roy was born on June 2, 1942 in Madison County, AL to the late Posey and Bertha Vann Johnson. He retired from the US Postal Service and was a member of the Taft Church of Christ. Mr. Johnson passed away on June 24, 2018 at Donalson Care Center.

Survivors include his loving wife, Bobbie Jo Campbell Johnson; son, Ricky Johnson; granddaughter, Kelly (Gabe) Clements; great-grandchildren, Lillie, Lora Beth, Mia, and Michael Clements; brother, Ronald (Francis) Johnson; and sisters, Beverly (Jerome) Acuff and Juanita Riddle. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a son, Michael Johnson.

Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM until 6 PM on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Roy Gilbert Johnson.

    Bobbie and Ricky – my deepest sympathies to you on Roy’s death. I have a lot of good memories of your family from when he was the minister at Wells Hill. (One is not so good; he got onto us “kids” for blowing bubbles in the back row one Wednesday night! Actually, that one is quite humorous now).
