Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Rowena Terry Cox, age 106, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. John Ed Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Cox passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Bailey Manor.

Mrs. Cox was a native of Daviess County, MO, the daughter of the late Carra Elwood and Minnie Edith Netherton Terry. Along with her late husband Walter L. Cox, she was the owner of Cox Economy Auto and a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include nieces Dorothea (Bill) Payne of Weston, MO, Martha Lou (Larry Don) Miller of Lawson, MO, nephew Bud (Janice) Scott of Versailles, MO, and many great nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her sister Lela Scott.

Visitation with the family will be Monday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Washington Street Church of Christ, PO Box 324, Fayetteville, TN 37334 or Bailey Manor, 113 Medical Center Blvd., Fayetteville, TN 37334.

    Miss Rowena was a grand lady, gifted with intelligence, graciousness and a wonderful sense of self-worth. Those fortunate enough to have met and known her are undoubtedly the better for it. She will truly be missed and is leaving a space in life that is unlikely to be filled.

    Mrs. Rowena was a such a sweet, classy woman. I enjoyed listening to her stories when I would visit my grandmother. Mrs. Rowena had such a long, full life. My condolences to her family, both relatives and Baily Manor family
