Obituary

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Mr. Ricky “Rico” Lee Howell, age 60, of Taft, TN. Mr. Howell was born on May 5, 1958 in the Lincoln County, TN to the late Homer Richard and Viola Newton Howell. He worked as a cattle farmer and was a member of the Tennessee National Guard and Cotton Mill Church of God. Mr. Howell passed away on December 10, 2018.

Survivors include his children, Ginger (Eric) Bolles of Fayetteville, TN and Rodney Howell of Taft, TN; grandchildren, Dalton Bolles, Tavia Bolles, Nickolas Lee Howell, Heavenleigh Howell, and Anastai Faye Howell; siblings, Ruth Law, Curtis (Gail) Howell, Willard (Brenda) Howell all of Fayetteville, TN and Kathy Howell of Taft, TN; and special friend, Tina Watts of Fayetteville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at PO Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Howell.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10 AM on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Cotton Mill Church of God with Bro. Sonny Moore officiating.

    I was sorry to hear about Ricky. Over the years, he did a lot of work for me. I crossed paths with him a few weeks ago, and he told me he had cancer. We exchanged hugs, since it had been a while since I had seen him. Condolences for the family.

    I’m so sorry to hear this! Ricky was such a part of our lives at the skating rink; I didn’t see him often but when I did, we always had a good time catching up. I’m so sorry for his family’s loss and will keep you in my prayers.
