Funeral service for Raymond Elmer Rowland, age 70, of Huntsville, AL, will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Campbell Cemetery with Military Honors.

Mr. Rowland was born on April 24, 1947 in Dayton, OH to the late John James and Ida J. Gullett Rowland. He was raised in Farrbonn, OH and entered the US Army on July 26, 1966. Raymond served the US in many locations around the world, including Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Post 237 and a Lifetime member of the VFW. Mr. Rowland was honorably discharged from the Army on November 11, 1986. After his military career, Raymond attended Drake State Community College and obtained a degree in Heating and Air.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Norris Rowland; step-children, Pam (Bill) Melvin of Huntsville and Cindy (Joe) Lookenbill of FL; and five step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rowland was preceded in death by his siblings, Virgil, Annie Lee, Jewell, and Willadean.

Visitation with the family will be at 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Raymond Elmer Rowland.
