Obituary

Nellie Owena “Wayne” Steadman Lineberger of the Delina Community in Marshall County, TN passed from this life on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the age of eighty-eight. She was born on February 16, 1930 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Loyd and Drucilla Walker Steadman and grew up in the Blanche Community. She was a hard worker from a young age. She possessed a strong and determined yet loving spirit. She faced many hardships in life without ever a thought of giving up. She loved people and was always ready with a smile and an encouraging word or any other kind of help she could offer. She was well known for cooking big meals for family and anyone else who stopped by to pull up a chair. She had served her Lord for many years and attended Delina Church of God faithfully as long as her health permitted.

She dearly loved her family and leaves to mourn her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Mauldin Crabtree, and son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Rhonda Lineberger all of Delina, TN; granddaughters, Carin (Matthew) Wade of Columbia, TN and Candice Crabtree of Delina, TN; grandsons, Lance Lineberger of Chicago, IL and Luke Lineberger of Delina, TN; and great-grandsons, Diesel Wade and Garland Crabtree. She also leaves behind a very special niece, Pamela Bolin Marsiliusen of Louisville, KY and a dear friend John Heltsley of Bardstown, KY who have both stood by her faithfully through the years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear husband of 62 years, Robert “Bud” Lineberger who passed away in 2015; brothers, Harold, RL, and Norman Steadman; and sisters, Elaine Bolin and Vangeline Graves.

We mourn not for our mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who has gone on to be with the Lord where there is no more pain and sorrow, but for ourselves who have been left behind to carry on without her. She can not return to us but we know that we can go to her one day by living our lives by the example she has left for us. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service for Mrs. Nellie O. “Wayne” Steadman Lineberger will be conducted at 1 PM on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. James Trivett, Bro. Tony Williams, and Mauldin Crabtree officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at 5 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Higgins Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, VUMC Gift and Donor Services, 3322 West End Avenue, Suite 900, Nashville, TN 37203-1197 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
