Obituary

Funeral service for Mr. Marvin Leon Hughes, age 95, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Tuesday January 3, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Hammons officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr Hughes passed away December 31, 2016 at Lynchburg Nursing Home.

A native of Giles County, he was the son of the late Elmer Louise and Leddie Mae Beddingfield Hughes. He was retired from the construction business, a WWII Air Force veteran and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sons Jeffery Leon Hughes of Elora, TN, Anthony Forrest Hughes of Taft, TN, George Barnett of Norfolk, VA, daughters Carolyn Faye Hughes of Meridianville, AL, Beverly Joy Hughes of Cookeville, TN, brother Charles Hughes of Athens, AL, 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Clara G. Hughes in 2013.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, January 2, 2017 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
