Funeral service for Martha Ruth Hastings, age 84, of Petersburg, TN, will be conducted Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery. Mrs. Hastings passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Tennova Health Care in Shelbyville, TN.

Mrs. Hastings was a native of Lincoln County, TN, the daughter of the late Tom and Leona Land Winsett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her children Ronnie Hastings, David (Janice) Hastings, Marilyn (Charles) Bowman, Mike Hastings, grandchildren Jill (Jody) Dunivan, Chad Hastings, Melissa Mitchell, Lezlie (Mark) Calahan, Shelley Barron, Rudy Hastings, Ginger (Brian) Parker, Dustin (Veronica) McDaniel, great grandchildren Ty and Maggie Dunivan, Clay and Sam Mitchell, Ryan, Julie and Joe Hastings, Gaine and Ragen Scarform, Mason Calahan, Wesley Calahan, Bowdie Nox and Liam McDaniel, Macy Parker, Lenox Parker, and sister Lynn (Richard) Wiser. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Lester Hastings, daughter Carolyn Hastings and five brothers.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
