Service for James Robert “JR” Barnes, age 32, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Bult officiating. Burial to follow at Barnes Cemetery. Mr. Barnes passed away on May 29, 2017 at his home in Fayetteville. He attended Brogan Avenue Baptist Church and worked for Ashby Hardware for many years.
Survivors include his children Nedora Kay, Jessie James, and Wesley Norman Barnes; parents Teressia Kay Mitchell Barnes and Jimmy Dean Barnes; fiance Shannon Bartlett Cornwell and her son Anakin Glenn Cornwell; brother John David Barnes; nephew Colton Lee Barnes; grandmothers Mammy Mitchell and Patsy Barnes; grandfather Rev. James Barnes; several aunts, uncles, and friends that love him; and special friends Bob and Linda Ashby all of Fayetteville, TN.
Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, June 1. 2017 at 5 until 8 P.M. at Higgins Funeral Home.

I am so sorry for your loss. I only heard today. I remember him from the time when he rented videos from me until the last few years when he patiently helped me at Ashby’s. He was an exemplary young man. A pleasure always. I cannot give enough words to how highly I have thought of him over the years.

We can express how sorrowful we are to hear of the passing of JR. Our minds have returned to the days he would run the halls and grounds at Howell First Baptist Church as a little tike. We will be praying for all of you in the days that follow.
