Funeral service for Mr. Granvil “Timer” Lee Newgent, age 90, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted at 11 AM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. James Bender officiating. Burial will follow next to his first wife, Tilda McKin Newgent, in Moore Cemetery.

Mr. Newgent was born on June 26, 1928 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Robert Lee and Bertha Mae Towry Newgent. He attended and was baptized at Vanntown Church of Jesus. He was a minister at Jesus Holy Church for years and ministered all his life and taught his children about Jesus. Mr. Newgent passed away on October 29, 2018.

Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Gail Turner; sons, Tommy Ray and Robert Aaron Newgent; brother, Marshall Newgent; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Kathy Noblitt; step-son, Johnny Jay Baldwin; three step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and bible friend and fellow minister, Marshall Jolley. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Guendell Faye Pitts Newgent; twelve siblings; step-son, Steve Baldwin; and one granddaughter.

Visitation with the family will be held at 5 PM until 8 PM on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Higgins Funeral Home.
