Gradie Dale Brown – 97, Fayetteville, TN. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 PM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Mullins Family Cemetery. Mrs. Brown passed away July 5, 2017. Mrs. Brown was born in Dekalb County, TN on July 11, 1919. She was the daughter of the late William “Tom” Thomas Curtis and Jodie Driver Curtis. She was married to Fred Eugene Brown on Nov 9, 1945. Mrs. Brown was a seamstress, homemaker, and attended the Maranatha Baptist church.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Ruthie Brown Mullins and Louis Dale Thaxton. Survivors include husband, Fred Brown; brother, George (Juanita) Curtis of McMinnville; son-in-law, Jerry Mullins of Fayetteville; grandsons, Jeff (Tosha) Mullins of Huntsville, AL and Chad (Angie) Mullins of Fayetteville, TN; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Cohen and Greyson Mullins of Huntsville, AL, and Riley Malone, Will, Carlie, and Claire Mullins of Fayetteville; and a very special friend/caregiver Vanessa Hayes of Fayetteville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

    I have wonderful memories of Mrs. Brown and Ruthie. Many days were spent playing and growing up with Ruthie. Mrs. Brown always made me feel welcomed and was a wonderful mother and wife. She set an excellent example for us.
