Obituary

Altie Edmiston age 106 of Albion, MI went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 6, 2017 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice. She was born July 18, 1910 in Huntsville, Alabama the daughter of John and Mary Cathey. Altie enjoyed working on the family farm in her younger years, raising chickens, gardening, canning and cooking for her family. She also loved watching T.V.; especially her favorite programs: Walker, Texas Ranger, Bonanza and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Altie was married to Elmo Gill and to the union were born two daughters, Laura Gill and Martha West. She later married Robert Edmiston in 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1993. Also preceding her in death are her parents, Daughter, Martha West, her first husband, Elmo Gill; siblings: Earline White, Mary Liza Bone, Tommie L. King, Ernestine Ferris, Emma Brown, Cora Lee Wiley, Brady Cathey, Oliver Cathey, Preston Cathey, Wilson Cathey , John Cathey; special Godson, Joe McGear and special friends, Mary Frances Sanders and Denise Ross and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Altie will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 4-8PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI.

Funeral services will be held Saturday February 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service. She will be laid to rest in Sulphur Springs Cemetery, Fayetteville, TN.
